Why Surf at Jacó Beach?
Jacó is one of Costa Rica’s most convenient surf destinations, located about two hours from Juan Santamaría International Airport. The bay offers rights and lefts, with gentler beginner conditions commonly found toward the south side and more challenging waves available nearby.

Is Jacó Beach good for beginner surfers?
Yes. Jacó has areas that regularly offer beginner-friendly waves, especially around suitable tides. Your instructor will choose the lesson time and location based on the conditions and your experience.
How long are the surf lessons?
Standard surf lessons are approximately two hours and include beach instruction, ocean safety and coached time in the water.
Is the surf equipment included?
Yes. The appropriate surfboard and a rash guard are provided for the lesson. Bring swimwear, reef-safe sunscreen, water and a towel.
Can children and families take a lesson?
Yes. Family and private lesson options are available. When contacting us, include the children’s ages so we can recommend the most suitable arrangement.
Do I need to know the tide schedule?
No. Tell us your preferred date and experience level. We will recommend a lesson time based on the tide and expected conditions.
What if the ocean conditions are unsafe?
Safety comes first. If conditions are not appropriate, the team will discuss a different lesson time, location or date with you.
